Inkheart - Mo and MeggieInkheart doesn't hit US theatres until next week on January 23rd, but there's already been real talk of making the movie's sequels, Inkspell and Inkdeath.


 

Inkheart Movie PosterAccording to a recent interview with the cast and crew on SnitchSeeker the scripts for the sequels have already been written, the director and cast members are all signed on and waiting to see numbers at the box office. Other red carpet interviews from the recent New York premiere of the film confirm that the sequel scripts are ready.

 

Inkheart, based on the book of the same name by Cornelia Funke, is the story of a father and daughter who love to read books. Of course, this fantasy adventure gets a little more complicated than that. When Mo, played by Brendan Fraser, and 12- year old Meggie, played by Eliza Hope Bennett, read aloud the characters inside the books are transported to the real world. The movie stars Brendan Fraser, Eliza Bennett, Helen Mirren, Andy Serkis, Paul Bettany, Jim Broadbent, and Andy Serkis.

 

Brendan Fraser was Cornelia Funke's personal choice for the role of Mo. The author has said that while writing the novels she envisioned her character, Mo, as Brendan Fraser. Inkspell, the second novel in the trilogy, was even dedicated to the actor.
